The same thing happened with Jim Butcher and his Dresden Files novels. I bought each one as it came out and then he became successful and now I have to wait more than half a year after release to buy the book if I want it in paperback. And then they keep changing the style of the covers. Half of the books I have were done in the original artwork which was a picture of a significant set piece in the story, but then they changed to pictures of Harry himself. My OCD side had a little issue with the difference but it wasnt too bad until the most recent paperback came out. Its not standard size! Who does that! Its too tall which not only mucks up the collection but now dictates that I have to mess about with my shelves to find someplace that it will fit. Its a travesty I tell you!
Anyway, back to the point. Im very happy that the Mercy Thompson books are a hit and Im such a fan that I did buy it in hardcover though I should have saved my money (it also makes me want to go buy the origionals in hard cover too but I'm resisting the urge). I really enjoyed the book. The way that Patricia wrote the emotional struggle that Mercy is still dealing with from the last book the fact that she was brave enough to write something so horrific, brave enough to even let it happen to one of her characters I truly related with the feelings even though Ive never been in such a situation myself. That said, Im hoping not to see anything like it from other authors. It was a bit too gritty and real and pushed the edges of what I want to experience on a regular basis.
So, anyway, I enjoyed the book, which was the entire point of this whole entry. However I would not recommend reading it unless youve had the chance to enjoy the first three novels Moon Called, Blood Bound, and Iron Kissed.
That's all for now. Don't feed the werewolves.

Oh, and thanks for the fav ^__^
Hey, I need to give you a call. I must have put my phone on silent and forgotten to turn it back on! I was beginning to think I smelled funny or something.
